Local Context

A SHORT DRIVE ACROSS THE BAY

From 1421 Massaro Blvd it is about 25 miles to downtown St. Petersburg and about 30 to Clearwater Beach, usually 35 to 60 minutes depending on which bridge and what time of day. That makes Pinellas a same-day job for our crew: load in, run the event, and be back in Tampa that night.

The work here leans toward evenings and weekends. Company parties, beach resort meetings, private celebrations and community fundraisers make up most of what planners ask about. Downtown St. Pete has historic and waterfront spaces such as The Coliseum on 4th Avenue North, and the Clearwater Beach resorts host a steady run of conferences and incentive groups.

What changes on this side of the bay

  • Bridge timing. The Howard Frankland, Gandy and Courtney Campbell crossings decide our arrival time more than the distance does. We plan load-in around rush hour, not the map.
  • Beach resort loading. Resort service entrances and parking are often tight. Tell us where the loading area is and how far it is to the room.
  • Outdoor events. The simulators need cover, flat ground and power. A tent with sides works. An open lawn in July does not.

Same-day travel, local pricing logic

Because the drive is short, travel is a small part of a Pinellas quote and there is no overnight to pay for. The rental, delivery and staffing lines work the same way they do for an event in Tampa.

Tell us about the loading path

Historic halls and beach resorts are where we most often meet stairs, narrow doors or a long walk from the truck. The frames are 26 inches wide and clear a standard doorway, but we still want to know the route before the day.

Weekend dates go first

Friday and Saturday evenings in Pinellas book up with parties and weddings across every supplier. If your date is a weekend in the holiday season, ask early.

Academy Sim Racing is based in Tampa at 1421 Massaro Blvd. We do not have an office, showroom or branch in Clearwater or St. Petersburg. We deliver mobile simulator events there from our Tampa base, about 25 to 30 miles away.

WHAT PLANNERS ASK

Do you deliver racing simulators to Clearwater and St. Pete?
Yes. Pinellas is a short drive from our Tampa base, and our own staff run every event.
Do you have a St. Pete or Clearwater location?
No. Academy has one facility, in Tampa. If you would rather come to us, our Tampa lounge takes private groups.
How far is it from your base?
About 25 miles to downtown St. Petersburg and about 30 to Clearwater Beach, usually 35 to 60 minutes depending on the bridge and traffic.
Can you set up at a beach resort?
Yes. Send us the resort, the room and where the loading area is, and we will confirm what fits.
Can the simulators go outside?
Under cover, on flat ground, with power nearby. Direct sun and rain are the problems, so a tent or covered patio is the usual answer.
How much does an event in Pinellas cost?
Rental, delivery and staffing are the same three lines as any event. Travel is a small extra line for a drive this short, so we quote per event. Our homepage shows where typical Tampa Bay events land, and a person on our team confirms every final number.
